Sustainability + Climate Resilience (2017)
Chinatown Study Area - Sustainable Communities Studio
A report developed for Pratt Institute's 2017 Sustainable Communities Studio. The goal was to summarize all of the research data collected over the course of the semester regarding the Chinatown and Lower East Side study area. Data regarding the area's social, economic, and environmental conditions was collected and analyzed. The report includes the proposal of a set of sustainability indicators and goals to be achieved by 2050. The focus was on enhancing economic and climate resilience while preserving the neighborhood's rich cultural identities. Impressions from local expert Eva Hanhardt, as well as the current carrying capacity limitations were taken into consideration when setting these goals.
