In 2020, I began serving as the Co-Chair of the Board of Directors at Sure We Can, a non-profit recycling center and sustainability hub in Brooklyn's Bushwick neighborhood. The organization underwent a series of crises beginning in February with a notice of eviction from our landlord. We immediately went to work applying for grants and government funding in an attempt to secure the funds necessary to buy the lot outright. Our efforts were exacerbated however, by the COVID-19 health crisis and all of the challenges it brought with it for both our day-to-day operations, and the vulnerable communities we serve. This marketing deck is a presentation that I created using Canva, an online design software, in an attempt to help the organization explain its situation to members of local and state government and hopefully secure capital funding.
